Discussion Guidelines
All comments are reviewed by our moderators before being approved for publication. Comment moderation is necessary to combat spam and to ensure discussions remain civil and on-topic. Constructive comments that are on-topic and add something to a discussion will nearly always be published; comments intended to inflame or insult will not.
Following are a few guidelines to keep in mind before submitting a comment:
- Off-topic comments will not be published
- Anonymous comments will not be published
- Comments that are rude or combative will not be published
- Comments that contain ad hominem attacks will not be published
- Comments that contain malicious and/or defamatory statements will not be published
- Comments that include profanity, political content, sexist remarks, racist remarks, or religious views will not be published
- Commenters who persistently ignore the above guidelines will be denied access to participation in future discussions
Public forums were created to allow unfettered discussions, while blog comments are more akin to “letters to the editor”. EcoVelo is a blog, not a public forum, and as such, the site moderators are under no obligation to publish each-and-every comment. Please think of EcoVelo’s comment area as a place to pose follow-up questions and contribute to the site by elucidating upon the original posts.
Thanks for helping us maintain a positive and friendly discussion environment!
