Commute distance (one way): 11 miles

Describe your commute: Light urban to suburban roads. A mixture of sharing car lanes to having my own bike lane, to roomy shoulders, to a short stretch on a busy 2 lane road.

Describe your bike and accessories: A Rivendell Sam Hillborne. Marks’ Rack and medium Wald basket in front. Tubus Cargo rack and two Swiss Army Ammo panniers in the back. Small Keven’s bag style saddle bag in the back. Sometime soon to be replaced with a medium SaddleSack. Shimano Dyno Hub with Buesch & Miller lights in front and back. MiNewt on the helmet. Lots of other lights all over.

What bit of advice would you like to share with new bike commuters?: Ride for yourself. Don’t bother with what others think.
