Bicycle Commuter Profile: Kristin MH

Name: Kristin MH
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Started bike commuting: 2003
Commute distance (one way): Varies; up to 14km

Describe your commute: I run a small client-based business and use my bicycle year-round to visit clients in midtown, downtown, and east Toronto. Some weeks I put in as much as 150km on the bike. It’s fun, eco-friendly, and it keeps me fit.

Describe your bike and accessories: Old beat-up Fuji Monterey, MEC Pannier/Daypack (perfect for carrying my MEC reflective vest and Europe Bound wet weather suit).

What bit of advice would you like to share with new bike commuters?: Experiment with different routes until you find the one that works best: the quickest route in your car might not be the quickest on your bicycle. Get a waterproof jacket – it’ll save your life! And have fun!
