Describe your commute: Fairly flat – two highway overpasses to climb. Terrible roads with no shoulders, a take your life in your hands every ride location.

Describe your bike and accessories: Trek fx 7.9 carbon with Titus titanium rack and Novus panniers. I use a 1200 Nite Rider L.E.D. headlite and 3 Planet blinky taillights. I carry a gun on the top rail and mase. Yes a gun, a sad but necessary evil where I commute through.

What bit of advice would you like to share with new bike commuters?: Never assume you are safe. Be on your guard. Read the road. Use a rear view mirror. Do not take chances.
