Bicycle Commuter Profile

Name: Brent Johnson
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Started bike commuting: 1999
Commute distance (one way): Depends

Describe your commute: I’m a stay at home dad. My work is wherever we decide to go adventuring for the day. Cookie commutes are about five miles. Park commutes vary from one to ten miles. Nap time commutes have varying mileage.

Describe your bike and accessories: Cyclo-cross (single-speed 34×17) with 42mm touring tires, nitto M12, nitto r10, baggins bag, Schmidt dyno paired with a supernova e3, pb superflash, b-17 saddle, bunch of tools (pump, multi, patches, extra burley clamp, tubes for bike and trailer patches, and a ruck sack, burley solo trailer (filled with dinosaurs).

What bit of advice would you like to share with new bike commuters?: Just ride everyday until other options seem silly. You’ll end up selling a car, losing some weight, and rediscovering your neighborhood. Riding my bike has totally changed my life for the better.
