Commute distance (one way): 6.0 miles
Describe your commute: It’s not a bad commute really. I ride from the center of town out to the edge of town. Half of the ride is through a couple of neighborhoods & a mall parking lot the second half is down a 5 lane road that really is a race track. Luckily I ride in early in the morning before the traffic starts and leave before the evening rush. It’s not the funnest ride home with the 5 lane and the traffic at the mall – but it’s better than being trapped in my car for those six miles.
Describe your bike and accessories: I ride a ’10 Trek 7100. I’ve added SKS fenders for the daily threat of summer rain, a Topeak Explorer rack and bag to carry the gear and some Welgo SPD pedals to make sure I don’t slip in traffic. The most modification I’ve added to my bike is my second bottle cage – it carries my double insulated Klean Kanteen coffee mug.
