Bicycle Commuter Profile: Jesse Royer

Name: Jesse Royer
Location: Ormond Beach, FL
Started bike commuting: 2006
Commute distance (one way): 6 miles

Describe your commute: Mostly side streets and neighborhood zig zags for the first three miles. The last three miles the road runs along a river with the sun coming up in the background. Nice! Not a lot of cars in the morning as I am on the road by 6:30am. The ones who do pass me are usually kind and give me my three feet.

Describe your bike and accessories: 2009 Kona Honky Tonk. Robins egg blue steel frame with Dura Ace down tube shifters! Couldn’t resist. Planet Bike 1w light, super flash rear and 28c tires. Good to go!

What bit of advice would you like to share with new bike commuters?: Leave yourself extra time in the morning. Get your stuff ready the night before. You don’t want to always feel like you are rushing against the clock to get to work on time. It ruins the commute and you will eventually revert back to the ole car.
