Everybody Loves Betty

I’ve had enough people mention it now that I realize I don’t feature Michael’s Betty Foy in photos as much as my own bikes. It’s partially because many of my photos are taken while I’m alone on my commute, but it’s also because I don’t want to bother Michael about giving up her bike for a photo while we’re on a ride. For the fans in the crowd, going forward I’m going to make a concerted effort to include more photos of Betty… :-)

Well that’s more like it :) She really is a beautiful bike.
Here are a few more for you… :-)

I’m surprised she gets off of it long enough for you to shoot it! :-))
Yeah, they’re sort of attached at the hip…
Truly lovely. I have a case of envy over here (though I’d still prefer a Black Betty…)
Alan:
It was a tough call between getting a Rivendell Betty or a Soma Buena Vista for my wife. In the end, we got the Soma. But every time you post these pictures of Betty I am jealous (grin)…
Incidentally, I love the Shimano internal hub I put on her bike – it makes a great winter bike here as a result. But with our hills, I know she would like the 11-speed (regardless of cost).
Maybe the next bike, with a gates belt drive ….
Not sure if this is helping me right now. Currently waiting for Rivendell to receive a new stock of the Betty Foy. Hopefully ours will be here late April/early May.
Cecily,
I like black too, though the baby blue is amazingly photogenic. It’s always interesting to me to note which colors pop in photos. Light blue and pale green both seem to show exceptionally well. It makes me wonder if they’re easier to see on the road as well…

Hey Brian,
That Soma is a sweet one. I like the traditional twin top tubes. You should send us some pics for the Gallery; mixtes are sorely under-represented!
Alan
I’m sorry Pat. :-( Hopefully the brown truck will arrive sooner rather than later!
[...] and gets me to just truly get it. Both Dottie over at Let’s Go Ride A Bike and Micheal of EcoVelo ride Rivendell’s Betty Foy bike. Velouria at Lovely Bicycle owns a Sam Hillborne as does [...]
