The Year of the Sage

It must be the year for sage green. First there was the new Brompton sage green which is currently atop their Facebook poll (clear lacquer has actually received more votes, but it’s not technically a color), and now we have this lovely from A.N.T.

The Salsa Fargo, a dedicated off-road touring bike was also in Green this past year.
I will forever cherish my olive green surly however.
Other bike brands with sage colours in their lineup include 2011 LINUS and 2011 Batavus Old Dutch.
I love this colour!
I love that headtube badge! Just awesome.
This is technically last year, and this is a custom one-time, but I thought you’d like photos of my bike, which is also sage.
The sage-colored 2011 Mixte 8 from LINUS that was on display at interbike is GORGEOUS!
Yeah, who made that headbadge?
Fortunately, when the year is over, there will still be red and black spray paint at the *-Mart, so it’s not like ya’ll are gonna be like that poor bastard with the ill considered tattoo.
And at least it’s not orange, I guess.

Agreed!!

“Yeah, who made that headbadge?”
That’s the stock headbadge that comes on all A.N.T. bicycles.

That was my favorite. The slate blue that I have was my second. No offense, but I’m not enamored with the new colors…
Eunice, I’ve seen that before in Ezra’s photostream. I love it!

Exactly! I made sure to get one of the black Quickbeams, boy howdy!
No, I’m not still grumpy and anyone who wants to insinuate that I am can just come over here and say that.
@Eunice
That’s a stunning bike, Eunice!
Oooh, gorgeous! Clearly what my life is missing is a sage bike!
This has always been one of my favourite colours, and it tends to go in and out of fashion. ANT has been making sage bikes for a while; it is one of their standard colours offered. The Bianchi Volpe is another popular bike that used to be available in that colour for several years, though not anymore. I own 3 bikes that are some shade of green; 2 of which can be described as sage : )

@Lovely Bicycle!
I had forgotten about Bianchi’s “other” green (the non-celeste version). The celeste green is very pretty, though personally, I prefer the more gray/yellow sage variety. My last/favorite recumbent, my custom ER-TE, inhabited an “gray” area somewhere between british racing green and sage:

The ANT at the top of this post is probably my favorite with its touch of yellow/gray.

Ha! It’s obvious everyone’s copying my sage-mint green vintage Jeunet, which I had powder coated last January:
