A Nice Painting
This is a painting my 15-year-old daughter created for me for my birthday. Regular readers will recognize the bike and the setting. I was particularly pleased with the accurate details, down to the curvature of the moustache bars, the bar-end shifters, the subtle rake on the front fork, the Brooks saddle with its copper rivet, and the letter “H” (for Hillborne) on the seat tube. Of course, the sentiment that came along with the painting wasn’t bad either… :-)
Just wanted to share…

Nicely done!
Wow, very nice! I wish I could paint like that at 15!
wish I could paint that nice when I was 15. way to go!
She’s very talented. Great work!
That’s awesome. A dad loves to see his kid’s gifts used in his gifts. She’s very talented!
I like the subtle curvature of the seat stay!
Gorgeous painting. I know it will be a treasure for you forever.
Simply lovely! It is obvious artistic talent runs in the family. I think this would look very nice in a future Ecovelo calender.
*I* wish that I could paint like that…ever. Pls pass along all of our compliments.
Great job Alan’s daughter! And Happy Birthday Alan! Is it watercolor, with perhaps a bit of gouache? I’m very impressed with her ability to get round wheels with all the concentric circles and curves (fenders) in a very realistic presentation.
Inspiring! Awsome Artwork! Thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful gift from your talented daughter. Happy Birthday!
Both the blue and brown bar tape look great on the Sam. Nicely done.
Beautiful! Girl’s got a future. I, however, at 48 am still trying to master fingerpaints.
I heartily agree w/ other posters. Your daughter is a talented artist.
Hopefully she continues creating beautiful paintings and please continue to post them on your blog.
Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful painting … I enjoy seeing the sentiment of shared expression of father and daughter. Well done!
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It means a lot to both of us.

The parent in me (and the fifteen year old) likes the clouds…
I love this. I painted as a youngster in high school, so this brings back good memories of the paintings my father saved from my childhood. He has since passed away, but my mother still has those painting on the wall where he hung them.
that is just beautiful
