I ride because my bicycle gives me strength: both physical strength to keep my body healthy and mental strength to face extreme weather and aggressive bullies. As a bonus, riding is a fun activity that fits seamlessly into my life. I tried to capture all of this in the self-portrait I took along my Chicago commute route last winter.”
