John Philip’s Photo Contest Entry

A brisk morning ride on a early winter day, to a park empty of it’s summer activity, provides a perfect prelude to a hot cup of joe and some quiet reflection on the year past, the miles ridden and the year to come.

We’ve done bike camping, but until now, I hadn’t thought of simply taking the stove somewhere beautiful for the morning cup. Thanks for the new thought.

And that’s a fine bike you have there :)

Thanks. Taking off from Grant Petersen’s S24O, I call these sub two hour rides S2FORJAVA. I tend to go early and see no one but when I do it’s a sure conversation starter.

This photo does great in black and white. It’s visually satisfying– but also, the bike sort of ‘frames’ the coffee, which I like. It’s like they are imperitively related.

Also– the black and white makes me feel like the place is nice and quiet, which you say it was.

    Great photo!

Great picture. Now I want to do an S2FORJAVA myself.
