Jeff Ignall’s Photo Contest Entry
I ride to find places that feel like heaven on earth. This picture is from about 75% of the way up Passo Stelvio, which is a ~15 mile ~7.5% average grade road with 48 switchbacks that connects Italy to Switzerland. It is a grueling challenge but a thing of beauty — I would suggest that every cyclist go and do this ride, you won’t be disappointed. A picture like this captures a beautiful moment in time, but nothing can replicate the feeling of riding up a high mountain pass and looking down at your achievement.

Breathtaking.
Wow.
Very, very nice photo. I’m not sure I’d be up to 15 miles of 7.5% just yet, but a scene like makes me want to give it a try.
Alan – Have you ever considered choosing twelve of your blog photos and making an ecovelo calendar?
Alan-
I have to second the notion of Kevin. The images here are wonderful.

Thanks guys. In fact, we offered a calendar the past two years and we have plans to put one together this year. Keep an eye out in early November…
