Happy Friday All! I hope you had a wonderful commute this morning.

Rainy bike commute today, like getting a swim and bike ride in one!
i’ve been curious on the front racks, especially ones as large at this one, have you ever put it on outsiide, front bus rack successfully? (we have the hook arm ones here)
Muggy and nearly 80 degrees this morning, but the ride along the greenway and through the nature preserve was well worth it.
Heh, WFH today – my commute was a 10 pacer up from the dining room to the office. Great weather in NorCal today, though.
I rode to/from the dentist’s office. No one can believe I ride my bike ‘all the way to San Francisco’. (it’s about 25 miles each way)
Great ride in today. New record on my way in. I was running late and had to give it all I had.
I’ve been wanting to get one of those Freight Baggage rack bags for a while – but this photo (i think the first I’ve seen of the back of the bag) makes me wonder if it’ll work on my VO porteur rack, as the back rail isn’t “full width” like the Pass and Stow rack. Any info on how wide apart those straps are? I tried contacting Freight, but never heard back…
And just to stay on topic; yet another beautiful photo, and I wish my commute was half as beautiful as yours. I’ve got to find another job, if just for a more enjoyable ride!
Very pretty photo that, Alan. Had a good ride to town and back for banking and 40 lbs of groceries today. Only 20 miles, but a little tiring after yesterday’s 78-mile getaway ride.
I haven’t loaded this particular bike on our local buses – I just haven’t had the need. I see different types of bike racks on our buses, so it’s hit-or-miss with a front rack on the bike.
“Any info on how wide apart those straps are?”
I measured them at 7″ outside to outside.
20 miles with 40 lbs. of groceries onboard is no cakewalk; good for you!
For others that stumble upon these comments; I heard back from Freight Baggage yesterday, my first email had slipped through the cracks; (the rest of their correspondence has been super quick, and I hope I didn’t sound like I was complaining when I said I hadn’t heard back from them.) I emailed with Travis, who was very courteous, and it sounds like they can make a version of the Rack Bag designed to fit the VO racks, as well as a version that’s not quite as tailor made to either rack, but should work on both the Pass and Stow and VO racks. ( I had mentioned I was debating replacing my front rack.) I had also mentioned perhaps having a local welder do some modifications to my VO rack (it seems wasteful to replace it rather than make it suit my needs a little better) and he said he can make it custom fit any alterations that might change things significantly. For anyone else who also drools over the FB bag, but like me, has the VO rack rather than the PS one, this is great news!
Really, this is one of the great things about dealing with smaller companies like this! Now I’ve got to figure out how I’m proceeding on the rack front so I can order me a bag!
