New Civia Website

Civia’s new website went live today and it looks great. It’s easy to navigate, it includes detailed specs on all the 2010 models, and it’s loaded with excellent photos. Have a look!

    I love that they’re making a lot of components (racks, fenders, forks, etc.) available. The new front racks look especially nice, but I’m wondering if they’ll sell struts that mount to braze-ons at the dropouts instead of just mid-blade braze-ons.

    Hmmm… maybe I should’ve just gotten a Civia in the first place. :-) I guess it just goes to show, buy nice or buy twice.

    Site is nicely done.

    Interesting that the Bryant frameset is twice the price of the Hyland frameset (and boy, has the price of the Hyland frame come down).

    @John

    Fully triangulated front cargo racks with double struts like the Pass & Stow work fine when attached at the dropout, but racks with single struts on each side work better if attached at mid-fork, otherwise they tend to have too much flex and introduce sway that negatively affects steering.

    @Alan Interesting! I had no idea.

    Hello,
    Thanks for posting this Alan, we are excited about the new site and would love to hear what folks think and what they want to see from his tool in the future.
    The aftermarket racks (with the exception of the Loring for now) come with struts that will reach to the dropouts and if you have mid-blade attachment points you can cut them down to attach there.
    Thanks again for checking out the new site and please check back over the summer as we have more product to show.
    Thanks
    PJ

    Kudos to Civia for fully realizing the Hyland belt drive models! Nicely done. I better start planning to open up my checkbook once the Alfine 11 speed hub comes out..

  • Fergie348 says:

    Whups – I guess I didn’t read thoroughly enough. No belt drive on the Hyland Alfine. Argh..

  • Alan says:

    Congrats, PJ – the new site looks super!
