Portland Bike Plan Approved
The Portland City Council unanimously approved the $600 million 2030 Portland Bicycle Plan yesterday. A major goal of the plan is to have 25% of all trips in the city be by bike by the year 2030. A highlight of the plan includes adding 700 miles to Portland’s already extensive bikeways network. Though overall funding for the plan has yet to be identified, Mayor Adams has made a $20 million committment to “kickstart” the plan.

This is amazing! I wish more city’s and states would take the same steps to become more bike and eco friendly. Kudos Portland!
[...] We all know that Copenhagen is a cyclists sanctuary. You can go where ever you need to go via bike. Most citizens don’t even own a car, or if they do they only take it on longer trips outside of the city. Portland is quickly growing into America’s version of Copenhagen. Not only is there an extensive bike trail system and numerous bike lanes, but there is also plans of increasing that by adding an additional 700 miles of trails!
