A.N.T. at Work
This is an interview with Mike Flanigan of A.N.T., filmed by Zachery Lee.
I just love Mike’s ethos. He really gets it and he’s remained true to his mission. Besides all of that, he makes gorgeous bikes. We’re proud to have him as a sponsor.

Great video. Nice to see a little into Mike’s process.
As we used to say when I lived in Massachusetts, “wicked awesome!”
I’ve wanted an ANT bike ever since I first saw the photos of them here on Ecovelo; now I want one even more. It’s not really practical for me since I live in Canada, but I have a sister in Boston so putting in an order and picking it up myself along the way to visit her wouldn’t be out of the question. It’ll happen eventually, I’m sure! ;-)
This guy is God! I want to go there and build my ANT with him! Nice!
That is a really great video. He comes across as the kinda guy I’d love to meet down the pub for a pint.
@brad: Sounds like you need to plan a visit to your sister!
Nice video. I always really enjoy manufacturing stuff.

viva sturdy utility bikes!
Seriously, Mike will be making my next bicycle… and I still think he should get a MacArthur award for his efforts.
I really appreciate seeing the whole context of the creation of these bikes, from Mike to the workshop to shots of the manufacturing process. He does work with real integrity. I’d love for a site to somehow collect such vignettes of builders as a way to support the handbuilt industry and call attention to the artistry while avoiding a sense of head-to-head competition. I think there could be an all-for-one, one-for-all ethos, with a regional flavor, like the microbrew model, and heck, the handbuilt bicycle thing is in Richmond this weekend: maybe Shimano or even some of the sponsors of this site could sponsor some bandwidth!
I just watched this video again and I just love Mike’s ethos. He just really gets it and he’s remained true to his mission. Besides all of that, he makes gorgeous bikes. We’re proud to have him as a sponsor.
