Anyone spot the Moustache bars at 5:35 in Part II?
Alan
This is the coolest thing i’ve seen in a long time! I’m rushing to the office, but will treat myself to the rest when I get back! Thank you!
OMG!!! Can we get Amtrak to implement this ASAP? My guess its that with them being barely in the black we won’t be seeing Amtrak bike friendly service any time soon. Great footage though!
What a wonderfully civilized way to bike tour – just loved it. I like the way they all stop to fix a flat. Very much like Canada’s Bike Train from Niagara to Toronto and this year to Montreal. Thanks for sharing.
what a lovely video!
What? No helmets? Who are these suicidal lunatics? They all should be fined–heavily! I bet there are a few mothers and fathers in those groups! The horror! The humanity!

PS: Very cool. Makes me want to join a cycling group. Ooops. None in my area. Guess I’ll have to start one–which is precisely what I’m doing.
I just finished part one and it is just grand! We need those bike racks/ cars on light rail!
A group ride from Sac to Folsom and beyond! Dougman
An Amtrak cyclists’ special, anyone?
Hi Mary,
I totally agree with you. This video is very much like the Bike Train from Niagara Falls Ontario to Toronto. Last year (2009) i had 54 riders from around the entire U.S. come to enjoy the Bike Train Trip with me . We took the train to Toronto and cycled around Toronto for two days then rode our bikes back to Niagara Falls Train Station. A wonderful cycling trip to be sure!!!
This video reminds me of what a great way it is to use the train transportation system to get out to a distant location and then cycle back .
Kudo’s to the Bike Train organizers — you have provided us with a great adventure
Here is the real deal — http://www.biketrain.ca/
“Bored as a bactrian camel.” Awesome. Well, this video didn’t give me “the sags” at all! A bike train on the Calif. Zephyr and Coast Starlight routes would be great!
How nostalgic.. I almost remember times like those..
Absolutely wonderful. I was looking for my Dad, since he was in the area ~1955 touring England and Europe. Very relaxing to watch.
