‘Tis the Season
‘Tis the season for gorgeous sunsets. It seems I always encounter the most intense sunsets in December (here’s one from exactly one year ago today). I think many people miss these light shows, either because they’re still at work, they’re trapped in a car, or it’s too darned cold to be outside at dusk in December. There’s yet another reason for ya’ to bundle up and keep riding through the winter… :-)

That is a very nice sunset;
happy Winter Season!
That’s one reason I love winter commuting. I don’t always catch sunrise in the summer. But i’m on the road every day before sunrise now. The beauty is truly motivating.
I have setup the trainer on my old MB2 and I love my heater! God you guys are the champs, I hate the cold! signed: Whimpy one.
I feel sorry for all the people holed up inside all through winter. Such a pretty and invigorating time of year.
Trapped in a car . Save me !!!!!
This morning I saw the moon setting and the sun rising, and tho it was (brrrr!) about 25 degrees, it was glorious. (Around here, the sun sets at 4:30 or earlier in the winter, so I don’t see a lot of sunsets.)
What a georgeous morning this was! The brisk air, a full moon setting in the west and the sunrise behind Mt Hood (Oregon). I feel sorry for the poor folks that aren’t able to experience these on their commute. I always experience at least one thing every day that makes commuting by bike worthwhile.
At least cyclists warm themselves through constant motion.
Imagine how cold it was in the pioneer days, when all they had was a horse and buggy!
If I had lived back then, I’d probably be a big wimp, and spend my time in front of the fire. Heck, I’d probably make Mama and Little Sister go outside and chop the firewood…
