Summer Sunrise

With the summer days starting earlier and earlier, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a sunrise on my commute. I had the day off today for the holiday, so I went out early to catch the sunrise on one of our favorite trails. In the winter, the sunrise is rich with color and plays out slowly, but this time of year the sun leaps off the horizon and hits you with its intensity almost immediately. This photo was taken before 6:00 am and you can already tell it’s going to be a hot one.

What a super photo of a good-looking bike in beautiful surroundings, Alan. I like how the bike balances and stays so still standing on its two wheels, too (haha).
@Tamia
Post processing… what’s that? ;-) Ahh, the wonders of Photoshop.
Alan,
I fear that your blog has morphed into a “photography” blog.
Although your photos are indeed excellent, it’s ALL THINGS BICYCLES which attracted us to here, originally.
I, for one, am very sad to see you go, (astray). Have we just run out of interesting, (or uninteresting), CYCLING related content?
Dr. Grateful
aren’t all of alan’s photos about bicycles?
For me it doesnt get any better than to read a lovely blog, with lovely pictures, about lovely bicycles and the sort. Man cannot live on text alone.
man oh man way to show off once again :P
i love it, beautifully composed and captured. yes i can tell you do work in photoshop, but i like them none the less :)
I was originally sent here to see the photos and was dekighted to discover the other content. So there you go Dr. Grateful
i’m just plain grateful
