Surly “Truckaccino”
This is Bill Milam’s Surly LHT that he built up as a very nice city bike with an Alfine IGH, Albatross bars, VO fenders, and Wald basket. Nice work!

If you build from a Surley CrossCheck enstead of a LHT, you would not have to use a chain tensioner.
Yeah, a CC would definitely be an easier IGH build. I do prefer the LHT’s long chainstays for better heel clearance while carrying large loads on the rear rack.
Kinda similar to my Cross Check / Nexus / 3N80 dynamo build. I’m very happy with my setup, rides nicely whether touring or commuting.
