EcoVelo Photo Contest Results

Well, we finally did it. Five judges spent two weeks poring over 400+ photos to come up with the 10 photos shown below. There are easily another 20 that deserve to be here as well, but alas, we only have 10 prizes, so we were forced to make some hard choices. For the winners, congratulations! For those who didn’t make the list, know that judging art is a subjective process and a different panel of judges would’ve come up with a different list of winners. Hopefully, winner or not, everyone enjoyed the contest as much as I did. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun, and I hope to host another at some point.

So finally, and without further ado, I’m pleased to present our top ten.

Prizes

I’ll be contacting the winners this week to make arrangements to ship their prizes. As mentioned in our contest rules, we’re going to allow the winners to choose their own prize in the order they placed. In other words, first place gets first pick from the list, second place gets second pick, etc., etc. That way, each person has a better chance of getting something they can use.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Please return the favor by giving them your support!

    Nice job winners!

    Question: How can I save these on my computer for for personal wallpaper use? The zoom links for each shot uses lightbox, I can’t seem to right-click and save the pics…

    ahhh, the first price!
    I think I choose the camdapter because I often make pictures while I’am cycling. Look below…

    @Steve

    Right-click on the “zoom” button and choose “save target as” or the equivalent. You can also right click on the “zoom” button and choose “open link in new window”, then save the image from there.

    @Gert-Jan

    Congratulations! Your photos were universally loved among the judges. I’ll send you an e-mail this evening to coordinate shipping the Camdapter. Thanks so much for participating!

    Thank you!
    Do you know that Groningen (where I live) has the highest level of bicycle usage in the West. 57% of its inhabitants travel by bicycle – compared with four per cent in the UK.

    And I live 200m away from the busiest bicycle path in europe. Look below:

    So…its not very difficult to make beautiful pictures of bikers.

    Oh wow! Thanks so much, Alan & esteemed jury members!

    I really like that Japanese brass bell, it would look great on my Workcycles FR8…and I’m sure the sound is exquisite :-p

    Thanks again,

    Marc

    I feel honored to have placed second in a field of so many great entries. My wife thinks I got lucky… she liked a few others better.

    Anyhow, I’ll choose the Terra cycle mount for my Burley Hep Cat. If I need another option it would be Acorn strapped tool bag.

    Thanks to all for viewing and thanks to the judges for working on this.
