Cool Larry.. :-)
You’d better believe it, I’ve coded in both. Not many of us left… Let alone those who are even old enough to understand the joke. :-)
Nice one, Larry.
Fortran anyone? Five characters on the sign -so maybe 4TRAN.
Geeks – Pah!
I have a similar non-geek photo lined up some time soon – just as soon as the light’s right . . .
Here’s Larry’s image:
COBOL?!? The commodore pet was available in two versions, one with BASIC in ROM and the other with PASCAL in ROM.
COBOL and DBAs are where programmers go to die. I mourn the souls of those lost.
Actually, it does illustrate what I first thought when I saw Alan’s picture. “Why does Alan like BASIC so much?”
“Fortran anyone? Five characters on the sign -so maybe 4TRAN.”
Oh, why not. :-)
4TRAN… for transit? (haha)
yuk, yuk… :-)
Ok, one more, but it’s not a programming language.

Brings back memories! Coded FORTRAN, BASIC and COBOL for about 15 years before switching to DB management/reporting for the remainder of my career. Retired in 2003.
logging/legging on to my body computer..had to reboot.
