Ian’s Photo Contest Entries

  1. A friend of mine riding in leicestershire’s bradgate park – a bit cliched but a reminder of summer night rides.
  2. The same fella taken a week or two later – again, it was almost dark but this time we were on woodland singletrack. the camera was a simple point and shoot that automatically set a nice, long exposure with this result.
  3. My on-one il pompino fixed gear. i’m told il pompino means something very rude in italian. this bike completely renewed my love of riding. it isn’t the lightest, fastest, most expensive or highest spec bike i own but i love it the most. the feeling of a nice steel frame cannot be beat. i bought it new and have spent at least the same amount again on it. despite covering 7000-odd miles in the last 3 years, it is still immaculate and polished regularly – much to the amusement of my riding buddies.
  4. The pompino again – the week that i bought it in almost standard trim.

The “black and white photo with selective color” technique is often over-used (and hey, I use it myself), but I really love the use of this technique in that puddle picture! Wonderful!
