EcoVelo for Mobile
EcoVelo is now available in a format for viewing on mobile handsets. Theoretically, your mobile device should check for this option and load the appropriate version. If it doesn’t, you can manually use the following URL to access the mobile version:
http://www.ecovelo.info/?mobile
To exit the mobile version, look for the “view full version” link at the bottom of the page.
I’m not using a mobile handset for web browsing, so I’d appreciate feedback from mobile users on how this works for you. Thanks…

SWEET! It works fine on my Crackberry standard browser…like I needed another excuse ;>)
This site is one of my favorites and now it just became easier to browse.
Thanks

Thanks Aaron!
On the flip side, I’ve been visiting your regular web page via Safari on my ipod touch with no problems.
That’s good to know – thanks Jonathan.

Nice. Looks fine on my iPhone
Alan, the mobile version is quick and practical but I miss the lovely layout and wonderful photos on the full site, which, except for the slideshow masthead (flash perhaps?), shows beautifully on the iPhone. One missing thing is a .png image file in your site’s root folder to show up as a cool web icon that does justice to the look of your site.
@Eddie
Hmmm. So, I need to figure out whether or not most people actually want or need a mobile version. I had a few requests for a mobile version, but perhaps the majority don’t want it?
Alan, I don’t have any experience with other mobile handsets but your full site looks good on my iPhone except for the masthead, which does not show up. The mobile version loads faster and is more compact, though, so I think that convenience is what some were looking for. Either way though, you still could use a cool-looking web icon for that one-button launch.
Eddie,
It looks like creating an iPhone icon is a simple thing, so I’ll definitely do that. Just a reminder in case you missed it – there’s a link at the bottom of the mobile page that loads the full version if you prefer.
Thanks agin for your help-
Alan
I was not thinking of trying my Noika N-95 on your web site because I really like to see the great photos of the bicycles you find/own. Well I tried to load the mobile version and it does not give me any more than the version that my N-95 pulls with it’s limited browser. From the non-mobile page I can see everything in an autosized frame for text and just need to side to side scroll to see photos. So I do not think you need to explore any more options for a mobile version as I am sure that others can see as much from there data enabled phones/devices. Thanks,
B
