Amen. I would have been out on the Lake Okeechobee Scenic trail last night except that I am temporarily bikeless. My new Surly Long Haul Trucker arrived Friday, but won’t be ready until Monday. I pulled the front wheel off my old Trek 1220 so my LBS could move my SON hub to the new bike.
It was a beautiful moon. Big, perfectly clear night. It must have been spectacular.
I got the Full Moon Ride idea from Regis Hampton, who sponsors one almost every month on the Withlacoochee Trail in west central Florida.
So you like riding in the moonlight? If you’ve got the funds / time, you might enjoy a little ride that’s organised over here in July – The Dunwich Dynamo. It’s 120 miles from London to the Suffolk coast, starting at dusk on the Saturday closest to the full moon. This year that’s Saturday 4th July, though I don’t think you could bring fireworks through customs!

There is no bike light that can hold a lumen to Mother Nature. Gorgeous picture!
